Indigenous and provincial police are investigating after the body of a Sudbury woman was found in Point Grondine Park near Killarney several hours after she was reported missing.
Lara McCann, 46, was visiting the park last week with her husband when they became separated, acting staff Sgt. Tammy Duffy of Wikwemikong Tribal Police told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Thursday night.
The backcountry wilderness park is owned and operated by Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.
Her body was found by police, who are calling the situation a “sudden death.”
Duffy said police are not able to release details about when, how or where the woman’s body was found.
