Broadcaster excited to share Indigenous stories as CBC Radio host – Cochrane Times Post

When Falen Johnson was a pre-teen listening to “rez radio” and recording mix tapes at her kitchen table she couldn’t have imagined one day hosting a radio program heard across the country.

Johnson, who grew up in Brantford and on Six Nations of the Grand River, said she was out shopping for pyjamas when got a call from CBC staff offering her a job as the new host of Unreserved, a weekly program focused on First Nations issues and culture.

“It made me feel like I could get another pair,” she joked during an interview from her home in Toronto.
