Chair of 10 First Nations/Highbury Energy Inc. Wanagekong-Biiwega’iganan Clean Energy Project is re-elected Chief

Fort Frances, ON  Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulate Janice Henderson for being re-elected Chief of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation. Also elected were Councillors Chris Henderson and Darlene Whitecrow.

“I am pleased to offer my congratulations to Chief Henderson as she begins yet another term as Chief of Mitaanjigamiing,” said Kavanaugh. “Chief Henderson is always a welcome participant at Grand Council Treaty #3, and has been a close personal advisor and friend for many years. I wish her all the best in her upcoming term and look forward to continue working together for the benefit of Mitaanjigamiing and the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty #3.”

Chief Henderson continues to serve on the Cultural Chiefs Committee at Grand Council Treaty #3, and is a long-serving member of the Resource Revenue Sharing Committee and Treaty Implementation Table Committee. She also served for many years as a board member of Grand Council Treaty #3.

Mitaanjigamiing First Nation is located on Rainy Lake north of Fort Frances. The population  is approximately 198, of which 132 live on reserve.
