City of Saint John paints two orange crosswalks in honour of Truth & Reconciliation

The crosswalks are a symbolic gesture among the many steps the City is taking on our path towards Truth and Reconciliation.

Two City of Saint John crosswalks are receiving an orange makeover today. City crews have been out painting the crosswalks on King’s Square South and at the bottom of Chipman Hill.  

Seven feathers in the crosswalks represent the Seven Grandfather Teachings recognized by many Indigenous communities in Canada. The teachings are love, respect, courage, honesty, humility, truth, and wisdom. We thank the Georgia Strait Road Marking Corp. for the use of their feather stencil for this important project.
