Elisa Levi – Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine
Elisa is currently enrolled at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine in the class of 2021. Prior to this, she worked towards improving Indigenous health alongside organizations like the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, the Circle on Philanthropy and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada as well as the Assembly of First Nations.
As a consultant she has advised several non-profit organizations on food & health strategies working with Indigenous peoples.
Elisa sit on the boards of the Indigenous Resilience Fund and Anishnawbe Health Foundation. She has a Master of Public Health from Lakehead University and Bachelor of Science with a focus on Nutrition from Ryerson University.
She is a proud Anishinaabe, mother of two and member of the Chippewas of Nawash in Ontario. Today on Nationtalk Elisa shares her commitment to the campaign project to build a new home for Anishnawbe Health Toronto. Part of which is the project she is spearheading, a First People’s Landscape initiative at the Centre that will celebrate the beauty and power of nature and offer a space for community members to connect to land and medicine and participate in ceremony.
