Through negotiations with the Government of Canada, surplus Crown lands in metropolitan Vancouver were transferred to three First Nations: Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh. The lands in question have been regarded as lands within each First Nation’s traditional territory. By acquiring these parcels of land these three First Nations can engage in economic development opportunities for their respective communities. View this video to see how this success was achieved.
