Event will be held at Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course between May 28-30
British Columbia Golf is hosting its first Indigenous championship, to be held in late May.
The agency has partnered with the Osoyoos Indian Band-owned Nk’Mip Canyon Desert Golf Course and the Office of the lieutenant-governor of British Columbia to launch the event – being held between May 28 and May 30 2023 with 36 holes played over two days.
Participants must identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit and can register from March 1 to April 28.
There are 128 spots available, with champions to be crowned in five categories comprising men’s, women’s and youth under 19.
The youth division will serve as final qualifying round for golfers who are vying to represent B.C. at the 2023 North American Indigenous Games in Halifax in July.
