With his minority government no longer under imminent threat of ending up on the wrong side of a make-or-break confidence vote — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to skip the regularly-scheduled cross-aisle back-and-forth in the House of Commons, according to his daily itinerary.

Leading the charge for the Liberals instead: Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, who, in addition to fielding questions from the opposition, has also served notice that she’s ready to unveil her spring budget bill, which is on track to be tabled this morning — and will, of course, eventually trigger a fresh series of confidence votes.

Also on Freeland’s calendar today: A virtual chat at a Chatham House event on “repurposing frozen Russian central bank assets,” which will get rolling this morning. (9 a.m.)
