Hiawatha First Nation will be a hub of activity next Thursday as they’re set to play host to an innovative skilled trades fair.

In partnership with the PVNC Catholic District School Board and Ontario Power Generation, the fair is specifically tailored for Indigenous students in grades 7 to 12, aiming to highlight the numerous opportunities in the skilled trades sector.

Students and their families will have the chance to meet skilled tradespeople from various backgrounds, including Indigenous professionals and business owners.

A standout feature of the event will be Anishinaabe chef, restaurateur, and entrepreneur Shawn Adler leading an interactive cooking session. He will collaborate with student groups and discuss his journey in the skilled trades.
