I·SPARC Launches 2025-26 Food Systems Program Grant

Traditional Territory of the Quw’utsun (Cowichan) Tribes / Duncan, B.C. (May 16, 2025) – The Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I∙SPARC) is excited to announce that the Food Systems Program (FSP) grant for the 2025-26 program year will launch on May 16, 2025.

The FSP provides grants for Indigenous communities in BC to enhance food security and food sovereignty initiatives. Since 2009, the Food Systems Program has provided grants, capacity building support, and valuable networking and knowledge exchange gatherings virtually and in-person.

“Since its inception, the FSP has embraced a community-driven approach by offering grants that support a diverse range of food-related initiatives,” said Robynne Edgar, I·SPARC’s Executive Director of Healthy Living. “These grants prioritize low-barrier access and take a flexible approach that centers the unique needs and priorities of Indigenous communities across British Columbia.” We are honoured to be trusted to continue serving as a catalyst in advancing food security and food sovereignty in these communities.”
