Interview with Six Nations writer and journalist, Kelly Boutsalis
Today we speak with Kelly Boutsalis. Kelly is a writer and journalist based in Toronto and a member of the Six Nations of the Grand River community and former lead producer for CBC’s Six Nations Bureau. She’s an award-winning freelance journalist who spearheads several initiatives to improve how indigenous stories are covered, among a wide range of other issues.
Reporting on Indigenous art, representation, history, and more, Kelly has written for countless publications including The New York Times, Toronto Star, and The Walrus to name just a few. Today we talk about her working at TIFF in Canadian Features, her view on Indigenous representation in media and her hopes for the future.
