IRC: Support for Elders

March 24, 2020- Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) recognizes that elders may need extra support during this time. IRC is following recommended guidelines for social distancing in prevention of COVID-19 across the Inuvialuit Settlement Region and wants to make sure elders have what they need at home.

IRC is now offering Inuvialuit Elders in the ISR who are 60 years of age or more support in the form of one-time financial assistance for food. This support will be offered in the amount of $500 per elder at the store.

IRC will be reaching out to elders to see what store they would like to purchase their food supplies from.

IRC is additionally looking at support processes to provide assistance to Inuvialuit Elders outside of the Region.
