Joint Press Release: Go Bus is Coming to Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation

For Immediate Release: March 17, 2025 OHSWEKEN, ON – We are thrilled to announce a collaborative effort between Metrolinx and our communities to extend the GO Bus service, providing valuable connections in Six Nations of the Grand River (SNGR) and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN). This expansion represents a significant opportunity for community members to connect with family, access essential services, and travel to job opportunities across the region.

Starting April 5, 2025, the expanded GO bus service will operate three daily trips in each direction, seven days a week, to the Brantford Bus Terminal. Riders can access McMaster University, and the Lakeshore West GO train service from the bus terminal at Aldershot GO Station. Bus schedules and service details will be available on Wednesday March 19, 2025, on the Go Transit website, www.gotransit.com.

SNGR and MCFN Stops Include:

  • Sour Springs Road @ Mohawk Road
  • Sour Springs Road @ Chiefswood Road
  • Six Nations Sports & Cultural Memorial Centre
  • 50 Generations Drive (Oneida Business Park)
  • New Credit Variety & Gas Bar

“I am beyond thrilled to know that for the very first time in the history of our community, we have access to public transportation,” expressed Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill of Six Nations of the Grand River. “The GO Bus, operated by Metrolinx, will provide new opportunities for our members to visit families and friends within our two communities and access the City of Brantford and beyond. We are grateful to everyone who has made this incredible opportunity possible.”

“I’m so happy that our members will finally have access to public transit with the expansion of the GO Bus Route 15, to go back and forth to the cities within our territory” said Chief Claire Sault of Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. “Our First Nation members will be able to attend more of the community events we offer and more importantly, to visit and remain connected to the First Nation. We look forward to the positive impact this service will have on our community members’ ability to connect with opportunities and essential services throughout the region.”

We believe that this improved transportation service will greatly benefit our communities, making it easier for community members to access educational, employment, and recreational opportunities.

To ensure our communities stay informed about this exciting development, SNGR will host a Community Information Session on March 25, 2025, while MCFN will conduct an online session on March 31, 2025. Save the date; more details will come soon.
