The Government of Canada is working to protect the environment while creating good jobs and economic opportunities for Canadians.

Today, the Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie, Terry Sheehan, announced on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, that the Magino Gold Project can proceed to help support clean economic growth following a thorough and science-based environmental assessment process concluding that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects when mitigation measures are taken into account.
