by ahnationtalk on September 17, 2025102 Views

GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 17, 2025  – The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) will hold a public hearing starting on September 18, 2025, at the Conference Centre, Phase IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec.

This hearing will examine the creation, distribution and discoverability of Canadian and Indigenous audio content across radio and online streaming platforms. This includes examining how traditional broadcasters and audio online streaming services can best contribute to a sustainable broadcasting system that ensures that Canadians have access to the audio content and music they want.

The hearing is part of the CRTC’s regulatory plan to implement the modernized Broadcasting Act. It will inform the CRTC’s work to update the definition of Canadian content for audio services to help ensure that content such as music is made, shared, and discovered on all platforms.
