Media Advisory—The Office of the Auditor General of Canada will appear before the Standing Committee on Oversight of Government Operations and Public Accounts to discuss the 2025 follow-up audit on child and family services and the 2023–24 Public Accounts of the Government of Nunavut

Ottawa, 10 April 2025—The Auditor General of Canada and the Deputy Auditor General of Canada will be at the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in Iqaluit from April 29 to May 1, 2025.

1. The Deputy Auditor General of Canada, Andrew Hayes, will appear before the Standing Committee on Oversight of Government Operations and Public Accounts on the 2025 Follow‑up on Child and Family Services in Nunavut audit report.Date: Tuesday, April 29, at 1:30 pm Eastern Time
   Date: Wednesday, April 30, at 9:00 am Eastern Time

   This audit focuses on whether the Department of Family Services is making progress in improving services to protect and support the well‑being of vulnerable children and youth and their families in accordance with legislation, policy, and program requirements.

2. The Auditor General of Canada, Karen Hogan, will appear before the Standing Committee on Oversight of Government Operations and Public Accounts on the 2023–24 Public Accounts of the Government of Nunavut.Date: Thursday, May 1, at 9:00 am Eastern Time
