MNO Youth Council Region 8 to Host a Beading and Self-Governance Circle for Métis Youth
June 5, 2025
The Métis Nation of Ontario Youth Council (MNOYC) Region 8 is inviting Métis youth to come together in a creative and meaningful way to explore self-governance and self-determination.
On June 15, from 2-4pm, join us at the North York Central Library (5120 Yonge St., Toronto) for a beading circle and discussion about how you can help shape the future of the Métis Nation of
Ontario.
This beading circle is designed as a space for learning, discussion, and cultural connection. Youth representative Gabrielle Moreau and PCMNO representative Kate Stewart-McNeil will be joined by a member of the MNO’s Self-Governance team to introduce the current self-governance process, and the MNO’s Statement of Principles.
Youth will engage in a guided group discussion about what self-governance means to them, how it impacts their communities, and the vital role they play in building a strong and self-determined future for Métis people in Ontario.
Connecting with Métis youth is important to the MNO and we want to continue to encourage the full participation of Métis in the Métis Nation, and foster community development. Events like these create a space where youth can feel empowered to make their voice heard and actively participate in their own self-determination.
The event is open to all Métis youth in Region 8, regardless of beading experience or prior knowledge of self-governance. Materials will be provided so come willing to learn, share, and participate!
Register by June 12 to join the circle and make your voice heard! For more information and to register, Click Here.
Please note: This is not a Toronto Public Library event.
