Power restored to Iqaluit downtown, hospital as blizzard hits city – Nunatsiaq News

Storm blanketed city in snow starting Wednesday evening, is forecast to end by Thursday afternoon

Power has been restored to the entire city of Iqaluit after a spring blizzard left the city without power for more than six hours Thursday.

Qulliq Energy Corp. posted on social media at about 1:30 p.m. that power had been restored to all parts of Iqaluit.

As Qulliq crews worked to restore service throughout the morning, parts of the city saw the lights come on temporarily only to go dark soon afterward.
