QIA Now Accepting Applications for 2025-2026 Post-Secondary Scholarships

Iqaluit, Nunavut – August 11, 2025- The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 2025–2026 post-secondary scholarships. Eligible students can now apply using QIA’s unified, easy-to-navigate online application form for both the QIA Scholarship and the John Amagoalik Scholarship.

This marks the ninth year QIA is offering $200,000 in scholarships in addition to the ongoing $5,000 John Amagoalik Scholarship, which honours the efforts of John Amagoalik in advancing Inuit rights and governance in Nunavut.

The QIA Scholarships provide 80 awards of $2,500 each, awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to Inuit from the Qikiqtani Region pursuing post-secondary education.

The John Amagoalik Scholarship, valued at $5,000, will be awarded to a student whose field of study supports Inuit language and culture. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay on how their aspirations are influenced by John Amagoalik and the Nunavut Agreement.
