Re: 1% Fund Portal on Robinson Huron Treaty Litigation Fund (RHTLF) Website
The Robinson Huron Treaty Litigation Fund (RHTLF) has launched the 1% Members Only Portal Monday, March 24th, 2025, on the RHTLF website: www.rht1850.ca. The portal will initially be for information sharing purposes only. There will not be an application on the portal at this time.
The online portal will be accessible by individuals who potentially meet the eligibility criteria for the 1% Fund of the Compensation Disbursement Agreement (CDA) of Robinson Huron Treaty Settlement.
The 1% fund will be established for certain beneficiaries not included on the First Nations membership lists. Calculating the potential beneficiaries and amount of compensation to be allotted to the 1% fund is what the RHTLF 1% Working Group has been tasked to do and have worked diligently at over the past few months. This has not been an easy task. One of the main challenges has been to attain critical missing data from the federal Indigenous Services Canada department (ISC) and the RHT First Nation communities. This missing data is essential in calculating the funds that will be required to designate to the 1% fund. As we receive more data, we will add other individuals who potentially meet the eligibility criteria for the 1% Fund.
RHTLF has received numerous inquiries and comments regarding the 1% fund. We understand and appreciate that individuals are anxious for movement on this. So are we. We are sharing as much information and updates as we can. We will continue to do so. Rest assured we are progressing in this matter. Please continue to monitor the RHTLF website’s 1% fund portal for more updates and information. Please do not contact the First Nations directly. All updates will come through our RHTLF website and portal.
