Scientists, Indigenous leaders send dire warnings about climate crisis – APTN News

More than 100 scientists, Indigenous leaders and community members are in Vancouver to discuss the latest dire warnings about the climate crisis.

The climate action conference is being organized by the First Nations Summit – an Indigenous political organization.

“I want to say to all Indigenous people on the coast in British Columbia or in any area that are effected by the ocean, you can’t wait to prepare,” said Hugh Braker, executive member of the FNS. “You have to prepare now you should be getting ready now for the effects of sea level rise if it really does melt in the next century its going up seven metres and its accelerating the melt is accelerating.”

There are few people at the event who haven’t been following the melting ice in the north, warming ocean temperatures and rising sea levels.
