Detailed Description
The objective is to add granular “A” gravel to and grade the following three (3) kilometers of Papakomeka Road:
• One (1) kilometer, starting from kilometer marker 7 at UTM coordinates 17U-476486-5358624 (Decimal Degrees 48.380350°/-81.317551°), south to kilometer marker 7 at UTM coordinates 17U-476477-5357615 (Decimal Degrees 48.371272°/-81.317625°).
• One (1) kilometer, starting from kilometer marker 17 at UTM coordinates 17U-476707-5349610 (Decimal Degrees 48.299249°/-81.314092°) south to kilometer marker 18 at UTM coordinates 17U-476027-5348908 (Decimal Degrees 48.292917°/-81.323207°).
• One (1) kilometer, starting from kilometer marker 29 at UTM coordinates 17U-476067-5339032 (Decimal Degrees 48.204064°/-81.322111°) south to kilometer marker 30 at UTM coordinates 17U-477084-5338830 (Decimal Degrees 48.202286°/-81.308408°).

Papakomeka Road will be repaired in accordance with Schedule 1 Work. This service is required to ensure the continued and safe use of this road by public and commercial vehicular traffic.

The Vendor shall supply all workers, equipment and supplies required to carry out the Work. Equipment may include but is not necessarily limited to: excavators, floats, dump trucks, worker transportation vehicles and hand tools. Supplies include but are not necessarily limited to: fuel, lubricants, parts and repairs. All wheeled vehicles must be licensed and meet all applicable requirements under the Highway Traffic Act, RSO 1990, c. H.9.
The Vendor shall secure aggregate from an aggregate source approved by the MNR prior to the commencement of the Work.
The Vendor shall prepare the road surface to receive gravel. The section of the road to be graveled must have a travel width of 11m (36.1 feet), topped dressed by spreading a thickness of Granular A material over the roadway to a depth of 10 cm (4 inches) after compaction.
The Vendor will grade the Papakomeka Road to the specifications outlined in Schedule 5 – Standard Specifications.
For vehicular traffic safety, the Vendor shall post the following signs (from both directions) identifying that road work is in progress:
‘Caution: Road Work Ahead’ two signs are to be posted at each end of the road where the work is to occur, no less than 200 meters and no greater than 1 kilometer from active road work.
This work must be completed between August 1 and September 14, 2025.
