Job Description:

Coastal Care Pharmacy is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive written prescriptions and verbal refill requests from patients.
• Accurately input all patient and prescription information into the pharmacy software.
• Perform tasks related to ordering, receiving, and returning stock, including expiry date checks, balance owing, and inventory corrections.
• Adhere to merchandising programs, operational procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate any allergy interactions and relevant billing information to the pharmacist.
• Plan delivery routes and organize daily and weekly deliveries according to designated zones.
• Conduct monthly expiry checks to maintain compliance and safety standards.
• Prepare blister packs for medications as required.
• Answer phone calls and provide information or assistance to customers.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with local healthcare professionals, suppliers, allied health businesses, and private insurance payers.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pharmacy and patient-related information during and after the employment period.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a pharmacy assistant is required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Kroll’s computer experience is an asset.
