Aaron Paquette, Edmonton Artist

Release Date January 21, 2013 NationTalk speaks to Aaron Paquette. The Edmonton artist received national attention recently after starting a satirical Twitter hashtag to raise awareness about the Idle No More movement. Paquette created the word “Ottawapiskat” by combining Ottawa with the name of the Attawapiskat reserve in northern Ontario.

He then began sending out humorous tweets to point out attitudes about First Nations finances and governance. He discusses about why he created this hashtag and it’s new found popularity.
