Aboriginal Music Week takes it outside this August – Updated News

Aboriginal Music Week is switching seasons. Instead of coordinating events during snowy November, celebrations will run during a sunnier August. This year, 25 Aboriginal acts from across North America will perform in venues across the city from August 16 – 21.
Performers include Indian City, Digging Roots, C-Weed Band, Derek Miller, Eagle and Hawk, the D’Aoust Brothers, Leela Gilday and many more. For the first time some Aztek DJs from Mexico will also be part of the festival.
“With great outdoor weather we’re able to do outdoor concerts and increase the capacity of the festival,” says Alan Greyeyes, chairperson of Aboriginal Music Manitoba.
He says their goal is to have Aboriginal families come out to the concerts.
