Grande Prairie Public School Division (GPPSD) is thrilled to celebrate Krista Umble, Division Coordinator of Indigenous Programming, as one of only five recipients of Indspire’s prestigious Guiding the Journey: Indigenous Educator Awards. Krista was recognized for her exceptional contributions to Indigenous education at the 2024 National Gathering in Winnipeg, Manitoba, held from November 20-24.
Indspire, a national charity dedicated to advancing the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, honours educators who champion community-based education and uphold the principles of Indigenous knowledge. Krista’s innovative and compassionate approach to her work exemplifies these values, making a lasting impact on GPPSD students, families, and staff.
