Belleville-based Indigenous artist Angela Wiggins has been selected to participate in the prestigious Art à la Carte program at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
Her painting “Dancing with Spirit” will be on display in the In Camera Dining Room at the Legislative Building in Toronto throughout 2025, offering visitors a glimpse into her cultural heritage and artistic vision.
The painting is a 24-foot high by 30-foot wide painting that beautifully captures the spirit of a bear dancing in the light while gazing into the Traditional Medicine Wheel. This powerful piece embodies themes of resilience, connection, and healing, qualities of Angela’s work.
Wiggins is a self[1]taught artist whose art is created from her deeply rooted Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) heritage. Art à la Carte is an annual initiative celebrating Ontario artists by showcasing their work in the heart of Ontario’s legislative community.
