Indigenous creatives ‘making waves’ to take over Nanaimo speaker series – Vancouver Island Freedaily

Nanaimo Art Gallery’s Making Waves series will hear from four Indigenous Artists on Sept. 12

A coming speaker series session will offer a glimpse into the creative worlds of four Indigenous artists.

Making Waves: Indigenous Takeover, hosted by the Nanaimo Art Gallery, will invite Gord Hill, Sonny Assu, Nikki Wilkinson and Brandi Bird step into the spotlight on Friday, Sept. 12.

The gallery’s Indigenous engagement coordinator, bailey macabre, said they kept gender diversity, as well as a variety of artistic backgrounds and lived experiences, at the forefront for the event.
