Experience the inaugural One Young World Indigenous Youth Day in Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, a historical gathering held in September 2024 in collaboration with our Indigenous Council. Young Indigenous and First Nations leaders from around the world came together to connect, collaborate, and take action on urgent issues shaping Indigenous communities today.
With a focus on Environmental Stewardship and Climate Change, Culture and Language, Embedding Indigenous Perspectives into Institutions, Transforming Trauma into Healing and Land, Water and Ocean Rights, the day gave Indigenous communities the opportunity to come together, celebrate their resilience and share knowledge.
Watch the full documentary that spotlights extraordinary Indigenous changemakers like Hana Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke, Martha Lidia Oxí, and Diwigdi Valiente, sharing their stories, struggles, and visions for a better future.
We acknowledge that we have gathered within the traditional unceded lands of the Abenaki peoples, part of the Wabanaki Confederacy. We also acknowledge the neighbouring territories of the Kanien’kehá:ka peoples, part of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We honour and thank the traditional custodians of this land and strive to work for the success of future generations.
