Notice: MCFN General Election Will Continue as Scheduled
October 16, 2025
The MCFN General Election for Chief and Council will continue as scheduled
Following the recent full strike by Canada Post’s union, postal employees have now begun rotating one-day strike actions across the country.
After speaking with local postal representatives, the Electoral Officer has been advised that strike locations will be confirmed the night before and will last one day per location, with employees returning to work the following day. While service disruptions may continue intermittently, mail delivery will proceed between strike days.
Given this information, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation General Election will continue as scheduled.
Mail-in Ballots for off-reserve members will be mailed out on October 27, 2025, as planned. To help ensure your vote is received on time, members are encouraged to complete and mail their ballots as soon as possible to avoid any potential delays caused by postal disruptions. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and share any updates should further disruptions occur.
Thank you
Veronica McLeod
Electoral Officer
