NWT organizations to host Red Dress Day event in Yellowknife – Cabin Radio

Four community organizations are inviting Yellowknifers to take part in a Red Dress Day event on Monday, May 5.

The Yellowknife Women’s Society, Native Women’s Association of the NWT, Status of Women Council of the NWT and YWCA NWT are co-organizing the event to acknowledge missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

“It is a time to come together as a community to honour the lives lost to gender-based and colonial violence, and to commit to a path forward with compassion and action,” a press release from the organizations stated.
