Money to be provided to territory over next 5 years

Nunavut will get $4 million over the next five years from the federal government to put toward addressing gun violence throughout the territory.

Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc made the announcement Nov. 20 in a news release.

The money flows from the federal government’s $390.6-million Gun and Gang Violence Action Fund announced in 2023 for programs aimed to prevent gun crime and gang violence.
