QIA Congratulates Incoming MLAs Following Territorial Election

Iqaluit, Nunavut – October 28, 2025 – The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA), congratulates newly
elected Members of the Nunavut Legislative Assembly following yesterday’s territorial election.

QIA looks forward to working with the new government and building on our shared commitment
to improve the lives of Inuit in the Qikiqtani Region and across Inuit Nunangat.

Over the next four years, QIA will continue advancing its priorities and encourages the
Government of Nunavut to strengthen support and align investments in the following areas:

– Housing and Infrastructure
– Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas
– The realization of a Nunavut Inuit Heritage Centre
– Food security and improved health care services
– Education and Language

These priorities require strong collaboration and a united approach. QIA looks forward to a
collaborative working relationship with the new government. By working together, we can listen
to Inuit voices, strengthen communities, and achieve meaningful, lasting benefits for Qikiqtani
Inuit.
