Statement: NTI Congratulates Prime Minister Mark Carney

(April 29, 2025 – Iqaluit, Nunavut) Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. (NTI) President Jeremy Tunraluk congratulates Prime Minister of Canada, the Rt. Hon. Mark Carney on his
election victory.

NTI looks forward to working with your government and Nunavut’s Member of Parliament to fully implement the Nunavut Agreement, and advance NTIs four-year strategic priorities Inungnik Makipalliatittiniq 2024-2029.

Inuit self-determination is central to the future of Nunavut and to Canada’s sovereignty and security in the Arctic. As NTI and the Government of Nunavut outlined in our joint statement on Arctic sovereignty, securing Canada’s North means supporting Inuit-led initiatives through targeted investments in critical infrastructure, housing, health care, education, and economic development.

Nation-building in the Arctic must reflect and respond to the needs of Inuit communities. NTI is prepared to work in full partnership with the Carney government to close the infrastructure gap and support sustainable, healthy communities that are the foundation of a strong and united North.

We look forward to a productive relationship grounded in mutual respect, partnership, and progress for Nunavut Inuit and all Canadians.
