Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami is once again inviting friends and partners to gather in Ottawa for a one-of-a-kind evening that celebrates Inuit excellence in food, music, art, and culture. Join us for an unforgettable night in the heart of Canada’s Capital.

Tapiriit take place on May 13 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the National Arts Centre. Formerly known as A Taste of the Arctic, the event now carries a new name — Tapiriit, meaning “united” in Inuktut.

This reception-style celebration invites guests on a culinary journey through Inuit Nunangat. The thoughtfully curated small-plate menu highlights traditional and contemporary country foods—including meat, fish, and vegetarian options—all while showcasing the deep cultural connections to the land. Throughout the evening, enjoy live performances that blend traditional Inuit expression with modern creativity, plus a fan-favourite: our sealskin photo booth.

Sharing country food is a vital part of Inuit culture. Inuk culinary enthusiast Malaya Qaunirq Chapman and NAC Executive Chef Kenton Leier have crafted a menu designed to surprise and satisfy every palate. Expect classic and familiar takes on Arctic char, caribou, muskox and more.

The night will also feature performances by Juno-winning artist Elisapie, throat-singing duo Silla, and the energetic sounds of DJ Esso—guaranteeing a lively and memorable celebration.
