Wetum Road Update 1

NORTH END

• Road built to South Bluff (40 km)
• Working on the road from 40 to 60 km
• Flooding North French River; expected to get snowcats crossing by Friday the 17th
• All small crossings built for two lane traffic
• Working 7 days week, looking forward to the colder weather forecasted for weekend
• Three snowcats and drags, two flooding crews
• Expected to reach the halfway mark by Monday, January 20th

SOUTH END

• Road built 20 km
• Snowmobiles have reached 80 km mark
• Crossings have been built to Little Abitibi
• Flooding Little Abitibi River, ice at 12 inches
• Expecting two more snowcats by Friday 17th
• Snowcats will be operating 2 shifts by this weekend

A meeting is planned for January 21, 2025 to determine a possible opening date for Wetum Road.
