This is to inform the public in all the communities of Nunavik that the Call for Nominations is now open for the 2026 universal elections for the following
Executive Director positions of Makivvik:
Vice President (Environment, Wildlife and Research);
Treasurer
THE DEADLINE TO SEND THE NOMINATION FORM IS
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2026, BEFORE 5:00 P.M.
You may request a nomination form from the Makivvik Offices, the Local
Municipality or the Local Landholding Corporation or you may contact Phebe
Bentley, the Chief Returning Officer at elections@makivvik.ca
The duly filled and signed nomination forms are to be forwarded to the
Returning officer by email at elections@makivvik.ca
Who can run for the universal elections?
Pursuant to the Makivvik By-laws, all candidates must comply with the requirements of By-law 4(f) to be eligible to run in the Universal Elections.
You must:
(i) be a Nunavik Inuit beneficiary under the JBNQA;
(ii) be at least 18 years old or older;
(iii) be fluent in Inuktitut.
